Summary:
Not too far in the future, small, fully moveable dolls are used in tournament-style battle games. The dolls are controlled via their owner's mind. Misaki, the main star of the manga, is a newcomer to the game but very skilled. She's befriended by her new classmates, as well as a mysterious lab-coat-wearing weirdo.
This was originally published as a shonen (boys) manga, but it's enjoyable for both genders and all ages. The battles are with mechanical dolls, so there isn't any blood, and no nudity. I hesitate to use the word "cute," as this isn't CardCaptor Sakura, but the series is rather cute and the characters likable. It doesn't contain the depth of other Clamp works, but if you're looking for a light read and enjoy battles where the outcome isn't deadly, check the manga out. I haven't yet seen the anime, but have heard it received good reviews.
